Chimney service in Carrollton, TX

Carrollton sits about six miles southwest of our Plano base, close enough that we can usually fit it into the same day as another north Dallas job. Around 64 percent of the housing here went up between 1970 and 1999, and another 9 percent is older still, so Carrollton has one of the higher concentrations of genuinely aged masonry chimneys anywhere in our service area.

What Carrollton chimneys actually need

Carrollton is an established suburb rather than a new one. Roughly 64 percent of homes date from 1970 to 1999, about 27 percent from 2000 onward, and close to 9 percent from between 1940 and 1969.

Some Carrollton neighbourhoods are unusually uniform in age. The northeast section around the 75007 zip is almost entirely 1970s to 1990s construction, which means whole streets reach the same chimney problems within a few years of each other. When one neighbour needs a crown rebuilt, the houses either side are usually close behind. The older pockets near the historic downtown square carry the oldest masonry we work on in this part of the metroplex, where eroded mortar joints and settled brick are common and tuckpointing does far more good than patching.

Services

Services available here

Tuckpointing and crown work dominate in Carrollton because so much of the stock is now forty to fifty years old. Full rebuilds come up more often here than in the newer cities north of us.

FAQ

Local chimney questions

How far is Carrollton from your base?

Carrollton is about six miles southwest of us in Plano, normally around fifteen minutes. It is one of our closer cities and there is no travel charge for it.

My mortar is crumbling between the bricks. Is that urgent?

It is not an emergency, but it is not something to leave for years either. Eroded mortar joints let water into the masonry, and North Texas freeze and thaw cycles turn absorbed water into cracked and spalling brick. Tuckpointing while the brick faces are still sound costs far less than rebuilding a stack after they start popping.

Do you work on the older homes near downtown Carrollton?

Yes, and they are some of the more interesting jobs we get. Older masonry needs mortar matched for both colour and hardness, because modern high-strength mortar against soft old brick makes the brick fail instead of the joint. We match to what is already there.

Can you schedule several neighbours together?

We can. Because so much Carrollton housing is the same age, we are often called back to the same street repeatedly. Ask about booking neighbours on the same visit and we will work out the timing.
