Chimney service in Allen, TX

Allen is about twelve miles northeast of our Plano base. It is the most evenly split city we serve, with roughly 57 percent of homes built since 2000 and another 41 percent from the 1970 to 1999 stretch. In practice that means we arrive in Allen genuinely not knowing whether we are looking at a brick chimney or a framed chase until we get on the roof.

What Allen chimneys actually need

Allen is split almost down the middle. About 57 percent of homes were built in 2000 or later and around 41 percent between 1970 and 1999, with very little older than that.

That split is why we quote Allen jobs after looking rather than over the phone. The 1980s and 1990s streets in the older western part of the city have masonry stacks now reaching the age where crowns crack and flashing gives up. The newer eastern and northern developments have factory-built fireboxes where the chase cover and the cap are what fail. The two need different materials, different fixes and different prices, and a company that assumes one or the other before seeing the roof will be wrong about half the time in this city.

Because Allen is split between older masonry and newer prefab, we carry parts for both. Take the free inspection first and we will tell you which type you have before quoting anything.

FAQ

Local chimney questions

How do I tell whether I have a masonry or a prefab chimney?

Look inside the firebox. Masonry fireboxes are brick or firebrick with visible mortar joints. Factory-built ones have smooth metal panels, usually with a visible seam and a manufacturer plate. If you are unsure, send us a photo of the firebox and we will tell you before we come out.

Does the type change what the repair costs?

It does, in both directions. A stainless chase cover on a prefab is usually cheaper than rebuilding a masonry crown. A cracked firebox panel on a listed prefab appliance can cost more than the masonry equivalent because it has to be the manufacturer part. That is why we look before quoting.

How long does a sweep take in Allen?

A standard sweep and inspection runs about an hour to ninety minutes for most Allen homes. If we find something during the inspection we show you photos and explain the options, but we do not do repair work that day unless you ask us to.

Do you charge extra to come out to Allen?

No. Allen is inside our standard service area at about twelve miles from our Plano base, and there is no travel surcharge.
